Bridges
Let me mend the broken bridge that leads me straight to you.
Let me mend the broken heart from all you have been though.
Let me be the one who is always by your side.
Let me be forever there to help you and to guide.
I know things are rough for you; they are for me as well.
But let me be the one to save you from your personal Hell.
I believe you are strong; you don’t need me at all.
But if I’m not here helping you, I’ll be the one to fall.
I sacrifice my time for you, with caution along the way.
I try to do things daintily, so they won’t start to fray.
Let me mend the broken bridge that leads me straight to you.
Let me mend the broken heart from all you have been though.
It's Just Me
Me? Who am I?
A mere reminiscent object of the past.
Me? My fate?
‘Twas said it would never last.
I’m twice the person,
With half the mind,
I’m always bitter,
I’m never kind.
I think too much,
Obsess a little.
No wonder my mind,
Has gone so brittle.
I fade away,
An object of belonging.
I’m not even that,
For I am the one longing.
I long for things,
I shan’t ever acquire.
Whether I need it or not,
It leaves me with fire.
I ache the days,
That are yet to come.
The steadfast days,
Bear only a hum.
They say you get
Wiser with age,
Nothing can tear me
From this maniacal rage.
It gazes menacingly,
My mood does switch.
Makes it all seem
Like a triggering glitch.
I’m perfectly imperfect.
It’s all I’ll ever be.
But even with all this,
I’m fine cuz it’s just me.
Contradiction Poem
I'm a monster,
And I go rawr.
Wait, that is "I love you",
In Dinosaur.
It's a contradiction,
Life it seems.
I have nightmares,
I have dreams.
I may love
And I may hate.
I can feel bad,
And I can feel great.
I breathe
in,
I breathe out.
I can be full of hope,
Or full of doubt.
I am a loser,
And a winner.
I am innocent,
Yet I'm a sinner.
I laze and sit,
I get up to walk.
I am utterly quiet,
yet I love to talk.
I am stupid,
I am smart.
I am real mean,
But I have a heart.
I care for others,
I am not cared for.
But I am wrong,
They care for me more.
More than I know,
Unless I'm mistaken.
I must stop...
For my eyes have awaken.
It made no sense,
But that's just me.
I am a contradiction,
You see :)
Wonderland
I was walking in the woods,
I stopped in time to see
A little white rabbit,
Pass by me.
I started to chase it,
Around and around and around.
Then I tripped into a hole,
And kept falling down.
I started to stop falling,
After what seemed like forever.
This hall was magnificent,
Made so clever.
There were so many doors,
Who needed keys to open.
Even though it was strange down here,
I sort of feel the zen.
I saw the rabbit,
It ran some more.
I kept chasing it,
And found a small door.
It looked rather small,
Someone like me couldn't fit.
I thought to myself,
"Should I open it?"
I twisted the knob,
And it yelped
in pain.
It said to me,
"Don't try that again."
I apologized,
As I must have hurt it.
"You need a key,"
It said with wit.
I saw a table,
It was up high.
I drunk a shrinking liquid,
So it seems to be in the sky.
I saw a beautiful box,
I was curious, you see.
I opened it to find,
Cake that said, "EAT ME."
I grew up tall,
The ceiling was short for my head.
If I would have kept growing,
I would surely be dead.
I was so tall,
I started to cry.
Then I was shrinking,
From up so high.
My tears were colliding,
They made a pool at my feet.
I started to float away,
My heart skipped a beat.
I stopped floating,
And I reached land.
I heard people singing,
Without a band.
I just kept on walking,
And into the woods I went.
I met two lively characters,
Oh how my day was spent.
I saw the rabbit,
I went on to chase it.
I ran into a flower,
And nearly got hit.
I'm still small,
And I'm running about.
I'm lost, and I'm scared,
I don't want to shout.
I find a caterpillar,
Smoking a hookah.
"Who are you?" It kept asking,
All I could manage was, "Uh, uh, uh"
I explained my situation,
"One side grows shorter, the other tall."
He meant the mushroom he was on,
I ate, and grew the opposite of small.
I was back to normal,
Into the woods I went as fast as a bat.
Up in a tree,
I saw a Cheshire cat.
"He went that way"
He said in a hush.
He pointed a direction,
But I was in no rush.
"What is up with this place?"
I spoke like a dear.
"I'm mad, you're mad,
We're all mad here."
"I am not mad."
I said in a huff.
"You are if you've come here."
Life is sure rough.
I didn't know where to go,
We had cut the chatter.
He told me to go,
And see the Mad Hatter.
I started to walk the direction,
In a mood kinda tarty.
I saw the Mad Hatter,
Having a tea party.
There was a hare with him,
They were drinking tea.
I went on along,
And asked if there was room for me.
Yes there was,
And they had to disrupt.
I was drinking but stopped,
Because it was time for a clean cup.
I decided to leave,
I kept walking on.
I just wanted to go home,
I started to yawn.
I came across some cards,
Painting roses red.
I asked why they were doing this,
One said this or they're dead.
I heard a trumpet make a sound,
As the queen came this way.
"Off with their heads" to some cards,
And asked me to play croquet.
Played with echidnas,
And flamingoes.
An interesting experience,
As far as that goes.
Something went wrong,
And I tried to help.
It made the queen fall down,
And she made a yelp.
"Off with her head!"
She screamed at me.
The king asked if there could be a trial,
She agreed to his plea.
In the courtroom,
Before it started to get going.
I noticed something weird,
I was growing.
I grew up big,
And stood my ground.
I yelled at the queen,
She should lose her crown.
I was shrinking again,
I was being chased.
I just want to
Get out of this place.
Cards were attacking,
I had wished it were a joke.
Suddenly I heard a voice,
And I suddenly awoke.
I was under a tree,
I had fallen asleep.
I shared my dream,
To myself I did not keep.
I was looked at weirdly,
In a peculiar way.
I'm glad it was all a dream,
What a great way to spend my day.
Cats, cards and queens,
Singing without a band.
All my adventurous tale,
Of being in Wonderland.
Adventures
I tie my hair back in bows.
I buckle my Mary Jane shoes.
I wonder how today will be.
The adventure that I choose.
I’m not a little girl anymore.
I make my own decisions.
I dream adventures so wondrous,
In many different visions.
I want to scour the world,
To find valuable treasure.
This would be on top of my
List of aspirations and pleasures.
I dress so young for a reason.
It reminds me of my childhood.
One of the things I want but can’t get back.
Those days were so good.
My days will fade, that’s how it is.
Each day I’ll get more clever.
I’ll continue my adventures on,
Now and on forever.
Beautiful Supernova
Stars were desperate for their destiny.
They sought it whilst up in the sky.
Fate lined them curiously,
Beyond the day they were to die.
They seek their counterpart,
As we’re all whole to them.
We are born from these stars,
And our lifelong journey begins.
As soon as we’re born, we start dying.
Our journey tries to fly fast.
Once we start searching,
We try to make it last.
We make all that we’ve learned,
Stick with us through the end.
You’ll always be looked out for,
As long as you have a friend.
The world is one,
As it once was to start.
If you don’t search for your destiny,
Your world may fall apart.
We’re all beautiful supernovas,
So carve your lining like a scar.
Whether you want to believe it or not,
You were once a star.
Pay Day
The tears, the screams, It's now a dream.
The way there were fights, All into the night,
Why did they start, It stabbed at my heart.
They were once in love, You'd think they hadn't heard of
Talking, and walking.
Each day, and they were to say,
"I love you, I need you"
It's all gone, All drawn
On a blank canvas.
They yelled, raised hell,
It was enough to break the tough.
They hit, and spit.
Then he stole her soul.
That leech, at the beach,
Ran around to try to drown
My mother, he managed my brother.
He needed to go, Or the hatred would grow.
He needed to be taken away.
I remember the day, I remember it clear today.
He got what he deserved, he was wearing on our nerves.
That one day, that slum had to pay.
I'm glad he's gone, Life's like a fawn,
All new and true and full of growth.
That man is under oath.
He paid the price, which was his life.
He's gone now, that horrible cow.
And now we're finally free.
My Love
I
know where we are,
We may be miles apart,
But I can still sense,
The beating of your heart.
The way it drums,
Gives me pins and needles.
I feel alive,
Like the dancing beetles.
Butterflies may court each other,
Up in the sky.
I will always love you,
Beyond the day I die.
You mean the world to me,
And that is true.
The only thing from Earth I want,
Would clearly be you.
Love Conquers With Hope
As we talk, he pulls me closer,
Starting to kiss me tender.
I think about everything,
Including his old Fender.
We belong together, I can feel it,
We love each other a lot.
As heavenly his grasp on me is,
I have so desperately sought.
We found each other lying there,
On the brink of death.
We pulled each other up above it,
Getting in our one last breath.
The last breath of uncertainty,
Now there are no more harms.
I am safe once again,
And I am still in his arms.
I let all we've become wash down the drain.
As much as I have known you all along,
Our love was like the new spring rain.
It happened without being told to,
It happened with no advice.
As long as I've ever known you,
You to me will never be ice.
You could be cold to me.
You could forsaken me.
You can rip me apart,
But I'll always be me.
There's no changing that.
It's all I'll ever be.
You can be you,
Just let me be me.
This started with love,
And it's turned into hate.
Don't mess with it boy.
This is our fate.
